Henrik Lundqvist was one of the greatest modern era goaltenders to play the game, he ruled the crease for the New York Rangers from 2005 until 2020 before hanging up his skates. ‘ King Henrik' as he is affectionately called did attempt a comeback with the Washington Capitals after his time in New York, but as we know, things didn't work out and he ended up calling it a career.
Now according to Russian Machine Never Breaks, Netflix is working on a documentary about Lundqvist‘s short time with the Capitals and the open heart surgery that ultimately forced him to hang up his skates earlier than he wanted to; take a look.
Lundqvist inked a one year deal with the Capitals at the beginning of the 2020-21 National Hockey League season, but didn't end up play a game and would eventually have open heart surgery in early 2021 and be forced to retire shortly thereafter due to complications.
If you're a fan of the New York Rangers, Washington Capitals or Henrik Lundqvist in general, this has to be a must watch. It's not very often you get to go behind the scenes with an NHL player, let alone detailing something as serious as this.
