New Toronto Maple Leaf Oliver Ekman-Larsson opened up about a touching tribute to one of his former teams in recent interview.
Newly signed Toronto Maple Leafs defender Oliver Ekman-Larsson has been a busy person in recent weeks, first winning the Stanley Cup and then of course signing with the Leafs.
In a recent interview with Craig Morgan, who has covered the Arizona Coyotes for a long time and through most of Ekman-Larson's career, the veteran NHL defender opened up about a touching tribute to his former team in a revealing conversation.
He was born April 8. His name is Leo. It's OEL backwards," said Ekman-Larsson as per Craig Morgan. "We're keeping it easy, you know? Do you
want to know his middle name?"
Phoenix. It's Leo Phoenix Ekman-Larsson," revealed Ekman-Larsson
Ekman-Larsson was drafted by the Coyotes franchise and played the majority of his career with the team up until 2021 before moving onto the Vancouver Canucks and then Florida Panthers.
Ekman-Larsson proves that not only do players have an appetite to want to play in a city like Arizona, but that the Coyotes team while they were in the NHL was able to make a massive impact on his life.
