A pair of Seattle Kraken players are among those on Friday's waiver wire.

On Thursday, we saw the first day of waivers for the 2024-25 season, with the Vancouver Canucks placing defencemen Guillaume Brisebois and Jett Woo on the wire in order to assign them to Abbotsford in the American Hockey League.

The Canucks went out and made some additions to their blueline over the summer, signing Derek Forbort and Vincent Desharnais, which didn't leave any spots open for someone like Brisebois or Woo on the opening night roster, but both should play big minutes to start the year in Abbotsford.

Vancouver announced on Friday afternoon that both Brisebois and Woo have cleared waivers and have been assigned to the American Hockey League.

The waiver wire was also active on Friday, with a number of players being placed for AHL assignment by their respective teams before training camps in the minors get underway.

In a social media post, the Seattle Kraken announced that they've placed forward Luke Henman and defenceman Nikolas Brouillard on waivers to send them to the AHL's Coachella Valley Firebirds.

Brouillard, 29, spent the 2023-24 season in the AHL with the Hartford Wolf Pack where he registered 36 points (5 goals, 31 assists), 137 penalty minutes and was a minus-17. He went on to add two assists in ten playoff games

Henman, 24, was the first signing in Seattle Kraken history back in the spring of 2021. In 45 games last season with the Coachella Valley Firebirds, Henman had 14 points (seven goals, seven assists), 29 penalty minutes and was a plus-14. He also had four points in 14 playoff games.

The Columbus Blue Jackets announced that they've placed goaltender Zach Sawchenko on waivers today. The Calgary native appeared in six games for Abbotsford in the AHL last season where he had a record of 4-1-0, along with a 2.12 goals against average, and a .924 save percentage.

Ottawa also got in on the waiver action on Friday, placing a total of seven players on the wire, most notably Hayden Hodgson, who had seven NHL games under his belt. Jeremy Davies, Maxence Guenette, Nikolas Matinpalo, Garrett Pilon, Jamieson Rees, Cole Reinhardt and Hayden Hodgson are the seven names the Senators have placed on the wire.

The New York Rangers have put a trio on the wire as well - Jake Leschyshyn, a former second-rounder of the Vegas Golden Knights, defenceman Ben Harpur and former Montreal Canadiens forward Alex Belzile.

Much like the Rangers, the Philadelphia Flyers also have a trio on waivers on Friday afternoon - Ronnie Attard, who has a pretty poor performance against Montreal earlier this week, defenceman Louie Belpedio, and forward Rhett Gardner.

We'll have to wait and see if any players clear the waiver wire on Saturday at 2 pm ET and if they do, they'll be assigned to the American Hockey League, with their camps beginning in a matter of days.
