A trade to report from the NHL. The San Jose Sharks and Vancouver Canucks have made an exchange.
The Canucks have sent forward Jack Studnicka to the Sharks for defenceman Nick Cicek and a 2024 sixth-round pick.
Studnicka, 24, was selected by the Boston Bruins in the second round of 2017's NHL Draft. He was traded to Vancouver for goaltender Michael DiPietro and defensive prospect Jonathan Myrenberg in October of 2022. He's played five games with the Canucks this season, scoring one goal. He has 6 goals and 16 points in 90 NHL games over his career.
Cicek was never drafted into the league, and has played just 26 games in the NHL since 2021. The 23 year old had a goal and 2 assists with the San Jose Barracuda of the AHL this season.
