The Canadiens, still firmly in rebuild mode, have three goaltenders on their roster.
Samuel Montembeault appears to have been appointed the number one goaltender for the Habs, leaving Primeau and veteran
Jake Allen as potential trade bait. Primeau has been enjoying a a better season after struggling in the NHL in previous years, but has just 28 games in the league so far. Gibson brings much more experience, but also a heftier price tag. The Devils can't wait too much longer to make a move. The team is currently one point out of a wild card spot in the East.
