When it comes to NHL teams they seem to always give players the benefit of the doubt. Teams seem to always believe that they can fix a player, even if all signs point to that not being the case. More often than not that comes back to bite the teams.
That appears to be the case once again with the Philadelphia Flyers and known shit disturber, Tony DeAngelo. Last summer the Flyers signed DeAngelo to a two-year deal with a cap hit of $5,000,000 per season. Now according to Elliotte Friedman, the Flyers are trying to cut and run on that deal before the beginning of the second year.
This move would be driven by new General Manager, Daniel Briere. Briere has made it clear that he is looking to shift the entire culture in the Flyers locker room. Moving out DeAngelo, who had issues with Flyer's coach, John Tortorella last season, would be a good start to that move.
