Flames reportedly trade Chris Tanev to Western Conference team

Calgary Flames defenceman Chris Tanev's time in Alberta has come to an end after multiple weeks of rumours swirling regarding his availability.

According to Pierre LeBrun of TSN, the Calgary Flames are trading Chris Tanev to the Dallas Stars, pending a trade call with the National Hockey League.

"Trade call still pending but hearing Chris Tanev is being traded to Dallas" Pierre LeBrun said.

Tanev, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, has appeared in 56 games this season for the Calgary Flames where he's put up 14 points (one goal, 13 assists), 14 penalty minutes and is a plus-16.

#Flames    are getting a 2nd round pick, a prospect and an additional conditional pick in exchange for Chris Tanev.


The Flames will retain 50% of Tanev's salary.
