The rounders surrounding the Calgary Flames and Toronto Maple have been swirling for some time now. It's no secret that the Leafs need defensive help and the Flames want a player, and a prospect in the deal in any deal involving Nikita Zadorov.
It appears that a deal may be around the corner that would see Zadorov go to Toronto according to Hockey 24/7 on X; take a look.
#LeafsForever close to acquiring Zadorov for Klingberg and Minten.
The deal would see Zadorov become a Leaf on exchange for defender John Klingberg and prospect Fraser Minten. This would certainly be a great deal for both sides of it goes through exactly as is.
Zadorov would bring a much needed physical presence to the blue line for Toronto while Klingberg could benefit from a change of scenery. Giving Calgary Minten would satisfy their prospect need as well.
Note: it's important to know here that while Hockey 24/7 has been known to break some trades before they happen, they're also not always accurate. This is only a report.
