Canucks Defenseman Won't Attend Training Camp, His Career Appears to be Over

BY TJ TUCKER    SEPTEMBER 5, 2023  (3:40 PM)
Some really tough news for the Vancouver Canucks and one of the team's defenceman. Tucker Poolman played just three games in 2022-23. According to a new report, he won't be hitting the ice any time soon.

Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal states Poolman will not be at training camp with the Canucks when it opens later this month. He's also expected to start the 2023-24 season on the long-term injured reserve list.

Poolman has had shoulder surgery and a concussion in his career. It's the head trauma that continues to plague him. Poolman himself has noted that he continues to suffer horrible migraines.

The 30-year-old has two seasons left on his current contract. By starting him on LTIR, Vancouver will have another $2.5 million in cap space to play with. Dhaliwal noted that Poolman doesn't want to retire, but his health must get better before that can happen.
DO YOU THINK POOLMAN WILL PLAY AGAIN?
