Olympic Hero: Unknown Italian goalie has Team Sweden panicking

Italian goaltender Damian Clara has been having himself a heroic start to the Winter Olympics, thanks to a first period to remember against Team Sweden.
If you have never heard the name Damian Clara before, you will by the end of today, and it is all thanks to his performance at the Olympics.
Going into the men's tournament, everyone knew that teams like Italy would only have a chance if their goalies could steal a game or two.
Today, Italy found itself playing against Sweden in its Olympic debut, and Clara, a draft pick of the Anaheim Ducks, got the start.
The start of the game was absolutely wild as Italy took a 1-0 lead early and completely silenced the Swedish contingency in the arena.

However, things eventually took a wild turn as the period went on. Sweden scored two unanswered goals, and as it stands, the score is 2-1.
This is certainly not Clara's fault, as he has turned aside 25 of 27 shots. He is on pace to face 81 shots in this game, which would have to be some sort of Olympic record.
By now, it seems clear that Sweden is just too dominant. They are going to win this game; the only question is by how much?
Regardless, Clara is showing that he is a beast, and if you are the Ducks, you have to wonder about bringing this guy up for the future.
You love to see this kind of goaltending. Hopefully, Team Italy starts playing better for their goaltender going forward; he deserves it.
We are excited to watch the conclusion of this game. The tone has been set for the Olympic Games going forward.
