Toronto Maple Leafs goaltenders Anthony Stolarz and Joseph Woll have had their ups and down this season, and now, they have to worry about the NHL trade deadline.
Going into the NHL trade deadline, Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has a lot of difficult decisions to make pertaining to his roster.
This is especially true when it comes to his goaltenders. Goaltending is at a premium this season, and there are teams willing to overpay for depth.
While Stolarz and Woll haven't stood on their heads this season, they still have the potential to be great, and a lot of teams are taking notice.
However, there has been no indication from Treliving himself that he is eager to get rid of one of his netminders.
The Toronto Maple Leafs could make a goalie trade
A new report from Elliotte Friedman suggests otherwise, and it all comes back to the phenomenal play of Dennis Hildeby.
As Friedman explains, the Leafs were so impressed with Hildeby that there is now a conversation about parting ways with Stolarz or Woll.
Some people here are wondering if they would move one of their goalies, especially after the way Dennis Hildeby...played this year
Given the term and cost of their contracts, it feels as though Stolarz would be the prime candidate to be traded. His age is also a factor.
Of course, the Leafs have a decision to make right now, especially since they still want to make the postseason, despite everything that has happened.
It is not an easy balance to strike, and there is a lot that will happen between now and the March 6th trade deadline for Treliving to change his mind.
