There were those that said they would find other ways to show support, and we're starting to see some evidence of that.

Arizona Coyotes player Travis Dermott has openly resisted new rules laid out by the NHL on what can and can't be used during warmups and games. As you may recall, the league sent a memo to all teams in advance of the 2023-24 season stating that jerseys, tape, and anything else used to support a specific cause were banned. As pointed out by a user on X, Dermott went with an ac of defiance in today's game against the Anaheim Ducks, using Pride tape on his stick.

Whether Dermott will face any repercussions for his actions remains to be seen. I sincerely doubt this is a battle the NHL wants to get involved in, though. There's a good chance we'll be seeing more of these gestures as the season goes on.
