Detroit Red Wings goalie gets run over and no one responds
The Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Wings are one of the few Original 6 match-ups taking place today, on New Years Eve.
With the additions of Patrick Kane, amongst other players in the off-season, like Justin Holl the Wings were thought to still be in the rebuild phase. It seems that even the Yzerplan cannot account for terrible backchecking.
As the Boston Bruins forward, Trent Frederic was quick to open the scoring as he led an odd-man rush and quickly put one on net to defeat Goaltender, Alex Lyon. and both defenders.
All the while, Frederic would go hard to the net, he would also end up rushing and colliding with Lyon.
Lyon wouldn't be injured due to the play, and Frederic would draw ire from Red Wings players, such as Ben Chiarot and Jeff Petry, but no fists would fly and the goal would stand.
In the meantime, Frederic would score another goal and the Red Wings are still down by 1 in the 2nd period.
