NHL Department of Player Safety makes announcement on whether Brad Marchand will be suspended for hit against Devils
For the most part since returning from injury Brad Marchand has been able to keep his temper in check. Over his career Marchand has become known for crossing the line, but as he's aged he's slowly gained control of that edge. Now it appears during yesterday's game against the New Jersey Devils, Marchand may have crossed the line.
As Michael McLeod looks to clear the puck out of the zone, Brad Marchand comes across the middle and appears to catch McLeod up high. Marchand's shoulder appears to catch McLeod up high on the chin. After the contact McLeod falls to the ice clearly shaken.
On the play the referees awarded no penalty, but given Marchand's disciplinary history some thought that the Department of Player Safety could opt to review this hit. But according to Emily Kaplan the league has made their decision on the hit.
