The Boston Bruins parted ways with many big names at the trade deadline, and as a result, they've now called up one of their top young names from the AHL.

At the trade deadline, the Boston Bruins moved several key veterans, with captain Brad Marchand the most notable in a blockbuster trade, but with playoff hopes still alive, they need to find a spark late in the year.
Now, the team have made the move that their fans have been long awaiting, as they have officially recalled Fabian Lysell from the AHL's Providence Bruins, with the former first-round pick expected to get his first extended run at the NHL level.
Lysell was drafted No. 21 overall back in the 2021 NHL Draft, and while he's only played one NHL game in that time, he's thrived at the AHL level, tallying 121 points in 161 games played over the past three seasons.
With a lack of depth up front, the team have now finally pulled the trigger, as the 22-year old is likely to slot into the top-nine somewhere as the fans will finally get a long look at a potentially key piece of the future.
At 5-foot-11, there's not much size to Lysell but the skill is elite, and when asked about the opportunity he'll get, Head Coach Joe Sacco was thrilled about Lysell's 200-ft game, which may help his chances of a significant role.
The reports from Providence are all positive...not just offensively but his 200-foot game, his play away from the puck, his ability to stay on pucks, the things that we need to see. It's good that he's getting an opportunity.
Only time will tell whether or not Lysell can live up to the hype, but with plenty of potential and the Bruins needing some key pieces for the future, this is the right move for them to make.
