Charlie McAvoy has been out since the Four Nations break, and now, the medical staff that handled his injury are coming under further scrutiny.
There has been plenty of drama surrounding the situation, with Team USA's medical staff constantly under fire from Bruins fans, as many believe the situation was mishandled.
Now, that criticism continues from Renaud Lavoie, revealing that he told the medical staff to do what they can to get him to play, but then there was an infection that has complicated the whole situation.
«The Bruins weren't happy with the way it was handled. McAvoy told [the U.S. therapists]: «You do what you have to do, I'll play.» Until there was an infection»
It was a shoulder injury that kept McAvoy out, and Lavoie speculates that the injection he received to be able to play may have contributed to the infection.
That was the sentiment echoed by Elliotte Friedman as well, with many believing that the medical staff were responsible for what happened to McAvoy and for why he's still out of action.
«I don't know if he was given a needle or shot or something like that, and it got infected (between the moment when he was injured and when he was admitted to the hospital), but it was something along these lines.»
There's unfortunately no timeline for a return for the star Bruins defenseman, showing just how hard this entire situation has been, and maybe one day we'll learn the whole story of what has happened behind the scenes.
