Hockey World Mourning as Former Buffalo Sabre and Calder Cup Champion Sadly Passes away at the age of 61
Claude Verret was a very intriguing name in hockey, especially in Quebec in the 1980's, but today, the world mourns his untimely passing after a stellar career that took him all around the world for a long, long time.
Unfortunately, he would go on to play just 14 games at the NHL level with the Buffalo Sabres, but he would thrive at the AHL level with the Rochester Americans during that time, becoming a big star in the league.
Then, his career would take him overseas to play in France and Switzerland where he was lucky enough to be a part of not one, not two but three straight Continental Cup wins while on loan.
Tragically, at the age of 61, the passing of Verret has now been announced, with many around the NHL but particularly in the Quebec and Buffalo regions are mourning the loss of a great player of the 1980's and 90's and an even better person.
Many people from that time have fond memories of watching the talented center dazzle fans in attendance, so we take this time to send our condolences to the friends, family, former teammates and fans of Verret who are suffering this loss together.
Rest in Peace, Claude Verret.
