A couple of months ago and this would have seemed unthinkable. Now, not so much. According to a report from an insider, the Calgary Flames are officially open for business.

In his report from the General Manager's meetings, The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun said while the team itself wouldn't comment, the buzz amongst the rest is that the trade request by Nikita Zadorov has prompted the team to look at making several other changes.

"With GMs gathering in Toronto the past couple of days, word spread on the fact the Flames are willing to listen on most of their pending unrestricted free agents, a list that includes Zadorov but also Elias Lindholm, Noah Hanifin and Chris Tanev."

LeBrun said Hanifin was offered a huge contract extension around a month ago believed to be in the $60 million range. Hanifin ultimately declined, saying he wanted to wait to see how the team is doing this season. Now, according to LeBrun, neither the team nor Hanifin have any interest in an extension.

"Now that ship has sailed. For both parties."

If Calgary has actually made it known they're willing to part with servers stars, it looks as if the flood gates are about to open.
