Some very tough news for the Colorado Avalanche and one of the team's goaltenders. After not playing at all this season as he continues to recover from an adductor procedure he had done over the summer, the Avs have now announced Pavel Francouz is done the rest of 2023-24.

According to the Avs, Francouz is going home to the Czech Republic to be with family.

It's not clear whether Francouz suffered some sort of set back, whether the surgery didn't go as planned, or what's happening. Either way, it's awful news for Colorado. The team will now be relying heavily on Alexander Georgiev for the remainder of the season.

Francouz becomes a free agent at the end of this season, so there's a chance he's played his last game with the Avalanche.
