The Edmonton Oilers have had some bad luck with injuries in recent times, and now, it appears they'll be getting both of their top stars back very, very soon.
As of late, the Edmonton Oilers haven't managed to have any luck, with
Connor McDavid and
Leon Draisaitl missing several games as they look to solidify their spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Recently, the latter made a comeback, leading to a massive win over their Battle of Alberta rivals with an overtime winner, but now, he's dealing with those injury woes once more.
On Thursday during their matchup with the San Jose Sharks, Draisaitl went down the tunnel and was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the game, with many fearing that it could put his status for the Stanley Cup Playoffs in serious jeopardy.
However, a positive update was provided on his status on Friday, with reports revealing that while he's likely going to miss some games, there's no fear that this will be a long-term injury.
Head Coach Kris Knoblauch provided that update by revealing that it was a 'lower-body injury' hampering Draisaitl, noting that he'll be out short term with no fears at this point that he won't be available for round one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Round one will likely see the Oilers once again match up with the Los Angeles Kings, and while both McDavid and Draisaitl have been out in recent times, as long as they're on the ice, this is a team that believes they can once again go deep in the post-season.
We'll see just how long 29 and 97 remain out of the lineup, but as long as they're back before the season finale, this team will be a force to be reckoned with when the lights are on brightest.
