The Edmonton Oilers have reportedly been trying to trade Victor Arvidsson, but haven't gotten any takers.

The Edmonton Oilers are one of the strongest teams in the Western Conference this year.
They are currently just four points back of the Vegas Golden Knights for the lead in the Pacific Division, and are poised to make another run at the Stanley Cup.
The team currently has a little over 5 million dollars in cap space, but could be looking to add more in order to make a massive splash as buyers at the trade deadline.
NHL insider Frank Seravalli believes the team is looking to trade veteran forward Victor Arvidsson for that exact reason.
"I would imagine Arvidson's a possibility if you're looking for a way to create space. So Arvid, I doubt it's going to be Skinner because he's got the full no trade and I doubt first off, why would he waive this close to the playoffs? And second we understand that he did have a very recent chunk of time before Four nations where he actually looked pretty productive. The point is the, the options are limited. Like we're not dealing with an incredibly long list like who. Who else is there to move."

Arvidsson has just 7 goals and 19 points in 45 games this season. His contract carries a 4 million dollar cap hit for the remainder of the season and next year as well.
He certainly hasn't lived up to expectations when he signed that deal in Edmonton, but he has been playing in a 3rd line role, away from the likes of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.
Another option the Oilers may explore in regards to creating cap space is Evander Kane, who remains out with injury.
Kane has been on LTIR all season, giving the Oilers cap room that way, but he does have another season after this one at a 5.125 million dollar hit.
He does have a full no-trade clause which could make things complicated, but at this point there are no signs of him returning to the ice this season anyway.
Regardless, the Oilers will certainly be one of the top teams to watch in the coming week as Stan Bowman looks to provide Connor McDavid with as much support and depth as possible.
