Shane Pinto signs re-signs with the Ottawa Senators
After what many thought was going to be a holdout, it seems the Ottawa Senators have re-signed a key member of their team during the second day of free agency.
With rumours surrounding the Ottawa Senators and Shane Pinto being at odds over new contract, it appears that that standoff has come to an end, and Pinto has re-signed with the club.
According to Eliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, Pinto has signed a 2 year extension, worth 3.5, although, that number could fluctuate a little bit.
Hearing Ottawa and Shane Pinto have solved the stalemate.
Sounds like 2 x $3.5M+ (not exactly sure of the number)
Pinto, 23, played in 41 games for the Ottawa Senators last year collecting a total of nine goals and 18 assists for a total of 27 points. He was coming off of a 41 game suspension and that is why he only played half the season.
The Ottawa Senators locking Pinto down on a bridge deal Is a way to lock up their young core without breaking the bank on term.
$3.5 million might seem a little bit high to some people, but with the going rate of other free agents, it seems to be right on target for the lower end or the younger players trying to prove that they can stick in the league
