Alex Nylander signs with the Toronto Maple Leafs Organization
After a a few days of speculation that Alex Nylander was going to join his brother William Nylander In Toronto, the younger brother is officially off the market.
One of the free agents that was still out there that was rather intriguing was Alex Nylander. He of course is the brother of Toronto Maple Leafs star William Nylander and could provide some scoring touch.
With speculation circling in recent days that Alex Nylander was going to join the Leafs in some way, it's finally happened, but not in the way some thought it would.
The Toronto Marlies have announced via their account on X that they have signed Alex Nylander to a one year AHL contract for the 2024-25 season.

The younger Nylander, 26, played in 28 games split between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Columbus Blue Jackets last season recording a total of 15 points including 11 goals and 4 assists. Of course, he really didn't takeoff until the trade to the blue jackets but once there he proved that he could be reliable and depth
The AHL deal for Nylander is a bit surprising, considering how he ended last season, but this gets him in the door with the maple, leafs organization, and keeps him in the same city as his brother William.
