Auston Matthews receives major honor and a couple of new linemates at the Olympics

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews is at the Olympics for Team USA, and it appears as though a major honor has been bestowed upon him.
Auston Matthews is one of the best players in the entire NHL, and this week, he will get to represent Team USA at the Winter Olympics.
Overall, this is a major accomplishment for the forward, who is trying to prove himself as the kind of guy who can lead a team to the promised land.
Team USA is one of the favorites in this tournament, with some believing that they can even win the gold medal over Team Canada.
Auston Matthews is captain of Team USA
On Sunday, Matthews was on the ice for Team USA practice, where he got to get acclimated to the ice while also spending time with his new teammates.
It was also revealed that Matthews will actually be the captain of Team USA, which is an incredible honor that we're sure he is excited about.
Meanwhile, it was revealed that Matthews will be playing on a line with Jake Guentzel and Matt Boldy. Whether or not this works out remains to be seen.
At the end of the day, Matthews has a chance to win Gold at the Olympics, which is an opportunity that very few players have bestowed upon them.
It is cool to see the forward get this kind of honor, and we hope he is able to make the most of it, especially since there is no guarantee he gets to do this again.
Only time will tell whether or not this USA roster is strong enough to contend with the Canadians.
