Ben Danford Indirectly Addresses Trade Rumors Amid Maple Leafs Rookie Camp

Toronto Maple Leafs defensive prospect Ben Danford is someone that fans will have their eyes on, especially as OHL trade rumors begin to ramp up.
Ben Danford is one of the best prospects that the Toronto Maple Leafs have, and there is a lot of fanfare around what could be his first season with the team.
At 19 years old, it is likely that he will end up back in the OHL, especially since he is ineligible to play in the AHL right now.
Right now, Danford is the captain of the Oshawa Generals, although that could change, as there have been rumors that the defenseman might be traded to the Brantford Bulldogs.

Yesterday was the first day of rookie camp, and it was here that reporters were able to speak to Danford about the upcoming season.
According to Maple Leafs Daily, Danford was honest about returning to the OHL, and how he wants to develop his offensive game.
I just want to put myself in a really good spot this training camp. It'd be great to get to some preseason games and show what I got at that level and everything, and we'll see what happens.

While Danford didn't directly talk about being traded, he did indirectly broach the issue when he said he was excited to be back in Junior. He never said Oshawa specifically.
If he does get traded, it won't impact his standing with the Leafs, who seem to be excited about his arrival in the city next year.
The defenseman still has a lot of developing to do, and it will be interesting to see how things go for him in the future.
Maple Leafs fans are certainly hopeful that he is the answer to some of this team's most glaring issues.
