Brad Treliving gets very bad news about Bobby McMann

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Bobby McMann is on the trading block, although new information suggests that moving him is going to be harder than anticipated.
Bobby McMann is the Maple Leafs' likeliest player to be traded at the NHL trade deadline, and for very good reason.
McMann is an offensive talent who produces a lot more than he earns, and is worth a whole lot to a lot of teams out there.
Brad Treliving is expecting a first-round pick in return for McMann, and he is also hoping to get additional pieces, such as prospects.
Unfortunately, for Treliving, it would appear as though his master plan might just get foiled by the very teams that want McMann the most.
Bobby McMann and the Maple Leafs must figure it out
According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, most of the teams that have McMann on their radar don't have their first-round picks anymore.
Toronto is looking for a 1st rounder for Bobby McMann; challenge for 2026: Colorado, Dallas, Edmonton, Minnesota and Vegas have already traded their 1sts; Carolina dealt theirs...got another one from Dallas; Ottawa doesn’t have one
This is a major problem, and is exactly what happens when you sit on your hands and don't do anything while the rest of the NHL is hard at work.
The Maple Leafs need some good news when it comes to the trade deadline, and it doesn't appear as though they are getting it.
A McMann trade is still possible. The Leafs may even trade some of their other forwards. Having said that, this is getting to be pretty bleak.
Only time will tell whether or not the Leafs can figure this out, or if their deadline will end up being a grand disappointment.
