Brad Treliving makes a strong statement about the Toronto Maple Leafs' trade strategy

Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving spoke to the media today, and it led to some interesting comments on the team's trade strategy.
Brad Treliving made waves last night when he revealed that he would be holding a press conference with the media on Tuesday.
Immediately, there was some intrigue about what Treliving would be talking about and whether or not a big decision would be announced.
In the end, Treliving delivered a solid State of the Union address, in which he admitted that the team needs to be a lot better right now.

Of course, fans were very curious about trades and whether or not the Maple Leafs are thinking about making any big swings.
Treliving made it clear that the team is not hitting the panic button. In his mind, the team is playing poorly, and that would be true regardless of the players on the roster.
We're not going to panic & start throwing things overboard... It's not so much an individual thing as much as a team thing... Put anybody in the uniform & play the way we're playing, we're probably going to have the same result.
This is interesting logic, and you have to wonder how far this is going to take the Toronto Maple Leafs going forward.
The Leafs are taking on the St. Louis Blues tonight, and with the five-game losing streak marching forward, there is a lot of attention on this game.
If one thing is for certain, it is that this Maple Leafs team is not good enough right now, and they may be forced into a difficult position.
Brad Treliving isn't ready to hit the panic button just yet, but he should at least have his hand hovering above the button, just in case.
