Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube is a no-nonsense kind of guy, and that has certainly been the case throughout the first couple of days of training camp.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have a big season in front of them right now. Overall, this team just lost a mega star in Mitch Marner, and they must find a way to replace him.
A huge piece to this puzzle is going to have to be none other than head coach Craig Berube, who understands what it takes to be a head coach in the NHL.
He has a Stanley Cup to his name, and that winning team was a scrappy one. The St. Louis Blues from 2019 were not the most talented group in the league, but they got it done.
Now, Berube is trying to bring that same grit to the Maple Leafs organization and show people that his team can go on a deep run.
Craig Berube gives the Toronto Maple Leafs hell
This all starts in training camp, which officially began this week. Yesterday, we got to see some line combinations come together, and for the most part, it was a good showing.
However, there were some moments when the players weren't putting in that maximal effort, and Berube had a whole lot to say about it.
Below, you can watch him yelling and losing it on some of the players. When Craig Berube speaks, you have to listen.
This kind of intensity is going to do wonders for the Toronto Maple Leafs this season, and we cannot wait to watch the team respond in the coming days and weeks.
The NHL season is set to begin in less than a month from now, and we're sure the Leafs are going to be in game shape soon enough.
Overall, it is fantastic to have a coach who very clearly cares about holding his players accountable, regardless of their status on the roster.
