Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Anthony Stolarz is currently out of the lineup with an upper-body injury, and the team isn't giving any proper updates.

Anthony Stolarz was one of the best goalies in the NHL last season, although the 2025-26 campaign has been much more of a struggle so far.
He has a goals-against average of 3.51 and a save percentage of .884. Furthermore, he has missed over two weeks with an injury, and no one knows the severity.
In fact, things are getting worse when it comes to Stolarz, and reporters are starting to get very confused about whatever is going on.

When is Anthony Stolarz coming back?

During a radio hit this morning, TSN insider Darren Dreger spoke about Stolarz and how the team is refusing to provide any information on the netminder.
Around the league, the injury has actually become a bit of a mystery, and there are rumblings as to what it could be, although nothing is confirmed.
There still remains no timeline for Anthony Stolarz as his «short-term» injury quietly reaches double-digit games missed.

What was originally labelled a one- or two-game upper-body injury has now stretched far beyond that, turning his absence into somewhat «the mystery of Anthony Stolarz.» With no updates and no sign of him on the ice, the situation remains clouded.
Dreger has not received a timeline on when Stolarz will eventually return to the lineup. This is bad news for the Leafs, who will continue to rely on Joseph Woll and Dennis Hildeby.
The Leafs and Stolarz aren't obligated to disclose specifics, but given he was their undisputed No. 1 goaltender not long ago, the lack of clarity naturally raises eyebrows.

«When I asked on the weekend, I got no timeline.»

Woll and Hildeby have been solid in Stolarz's absence, although there is no denying the Leafs would love to have their OG tandem back, once and for all.
Neither goalie has been healthy at the same time this season, and this has created some issues for the team. Whether or not those issues get worked out, remains to be seen.
