Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube recently had a public disagreement with general manager Brad Treliving, and the media wants some answers.

On Monday, there was rampant speculation that Craig Berube could be fired from his post as the head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs. In the end, he escaped this fate, as assistant Marc Savard was fired instead.
Prior to Tuesday's game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Leafs general manager Brad Treliving made the claim that assistant Derek Lalonde would take over the power play.
Just a few minutes later, Berube would contradict these comments, claiming that the entire coaching staff is working on the power play as opposed to just one person.
It was an interesting development that showed apparent strife between Berube and his boss. Reporters were quick to point this out, and it led to fears that the Leafs are in more disarray than is being let on.

After a 6-3 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins, reporters were quick to ask Berube about his apparent disagreement with Treliving and whether or not there was miscommunication.
According to reporter Jesse Blake, Berube told reporters that the confusion stems from Lalonde running the power play meetings. The entire staff is doing the strategizing.
Overall, Berube needed to nip this in the bud, and he needed to do so fast. A disagreement between the head coach and the general manager could get ugly real fast.
That said, the Leafs should simply be looking for the positives right now. They are fresh off a 6-3 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins, and they have the Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings coming up this weekend.
These are two teams that stand in their way of a playoff spot, so getting wins could be huge. Not to mention, the Red Wings are first in the Atlantic Division, while the Leafs are last.
Perhaps last night's win can give this team some much-needed momentum as they look to give fans something to cheer about in the New Year.
