Craig Berube makes worrisome comments about Joseph Woll

Joseph Woll started the NHL season on a bit of a high as he was carrying the Toronto Maple Leafs through a dark time of the season.

However, over the past few games, Woll has struggled, which is not good when you consider how the Leafs need to start winning games if they are to make the postseason.

The Leafs are in dire straits, and poor goaltending from Woll is making things worse. In fact, coming into tonight's game against the Red Wings, the netminder had given up 11 goals in two games.

Going into this one, Craig Berube made some comments that certainly started Leafs supporters, and led to some doubts about Woll.

Simply, the head coach stated that the goalie was working through some things, although the team had complete confidence that he would get over it.

While this is definitely good to hear that he can get over it, you do have to wonder if he will be able to, especially with the head coach talking like this.

Woll certainly got over it tonight as he was able to turn aside 39 out of 41 shots against the Detroit Red Wings.

Unfortunately, that was not good enough to win. The Leafs lost the game by a score of 2-1, and it was another example of this team not being clutch.

The team needs to be better in front of Joseph Woll, and while the team had been scoring goals previously, they are back to their old ways.

Whether or not this is a team that can get itself back on track, is something that certainly remains to be seen.
