Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube watched his team lose 5-1 to the Dallas Stars tonight in what was a disastrous loss amid an equally disastrous road trip.

Over the course of the last four days, the Toronto Maple Leafs have played the Washington Capitals, Nashville Predators, and Dallas Stars.
On Thursday, the Leafs lost to the Capitals by a score of 4-0 in what was an awful game. On Saturday, they lost 5-3 to the Predators, and today against the Stars, they lost 5-1.
Scott Laughton got the team's only goal, and for the most part, this was a truly terrible game to watch from start to finish, as the Leafs could not generate offense.
Head coach Craig Berube was on the hot seat coming into this game, and based on the catastrophic road trip the Leafs just finished up, it wouldn't be surprising if he was fired on Monday.

Will Craig Berube be fired?

On social media, fans and analysts were posting memes about Berube's demise and how it seems more likely than not that he will be let go.
Of course, a decision like that won't be made tonight, and it is not going to be made lightly either. Having said that, it remains clear that the Leafs are in a very bad place.
Berube's system is not working. Auston Matthews and William Nylander can't generate offense. The players are being rendered ineffective, and the fans are just bored of how the team plays.
On Tuesday, the Maple Leafs are back in action against the Pittsburgh Penguins at home. Whether or not Berube will be the head coach remains to be seen.
If he were to be let go, Peter DeBoer could take over, although someone like Derek Lalonde could end up taking an interim position.
The Leafs now have a record of 15-15-5. If this keeps up, they could end up in the lottery, which would be a disaster.
