Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube is having a lot of problems motivating his team, and Elliotte Friedman seems to know when it all started.
Craig Berube and the Toronto Maple Leafs' players are very clearly not seeing eye to eye right now, and it has caused all sorts of problems.
The Leafs continue to lose winnable games, and Berube's job is currently on the line as the team has fallen to dead last in the Atlantic Division.
Last season, Berube could have been a Jack Adams finalist, so it's hard to believe that the coach has lost the locker room in such a devastating way.
However, according to Elliotte Friedman, there is one moment in particular that appeared to completely shatter the team's confidence.

The Sportsnet insider believes it all started during the playoffs, when the Maple Leafs lost in Game 7 to the Florida Panthers.
While Friedman can't say for sure what happened, he believes the team started to tune Berube out following this moment.
There's a lot of heat on Berube. The more I've thought about this season, the more I go back to May, that seven-game Panthers showdown; Did it all end then? Did that loss smash the group's belief in him and each other?
If that is true, then this is a truly mentally weak roster that needs to figure some things out, sooner rather than later, because that is ridiculous.
Tonight, the Leafs play the Dallas Stars, and there is no doubt that they need to step up their play, or risk some very serious consequences.
Berube's job will continue to be on the line, and only winning is going to be able to remedy the entire situation.
