Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nicolas Roy is currently dealing with an injury, and on Tuesday, Craig Berube delivered an update that is not going to be well-received.
Nicolas Roy was the player the Toronto Maple Leafs traded for in the now-infamous Mitch Marner deal, which has left the team decimated.
Overall, Roy is a player who has struggled this season. Four points in 19 games just isn't good enough for a team that needs to win games.
The Leafs are in the midst of a five-game losing streak, and for the most part, a lot of this has to do with a plethora of injuries.
On Monday, the injury woes got even worse, as it was revealed that Roy was not on the ice and that he would be replaced by Jacob Quillan.
Nicolas Roy misses time for the Toronto Maple Leafs
Today, the Maple Leafs were on the ice for morning skate, and it was here that head coach Craig Berube gave an official update on Roy.
The coach made it clear that Roy is actually going to have to miss a couple of games moving forward, but Quillan will be taking that place.
Jacob Quillan is a player who has a bright future, especially since he is averaging a point per game in the AHL right now.
If you are a Leafs fan, you should be excited to watch Quillan tonight, especially as he looks to establish himself as a future star.
For now, however, they just need Quillan to put up some good shifts and maybe even help the Maple Leafs win a game amid their losing streak.
Only time will tell whether or not the Leafs can do what they haven't been able to do in over a week.
