Former Toronto Maple Leafs forward David Kampf issued a message to Leafs fans on Saturday night after signing with the Vancouver Canucks.

David Kampf was recently put on waivers by the Toronto Maple Leafs. He eventually cleared waivers, and from there, his contract was terminated.
On Saturday, Kampf signed a one-year dea with the Vancouver Canucks, and considering all of their injuries, it is clear that he will get some playing time.
Playing time was something that the Toronto Maple Leafs couldn't give him, and it ultimately led to their breakup, which always felt inevitable.

David Kampf speaks out about his time in Toronto

On Saturday night, Kampf actually took to Instagram, where he offered up a message to the Leafs organization, as well as the fans.
As you will see, the forward still has a lot of love for everyone in the city, even if things ended the way that they did.
It just goes to show that Kampf has a ton of class, and is a very good guy.
It's been a pleasure Toronto. A great chapter of my life but the time has come to move on. I gave everything I had to this organization and city and I'll always be thankful for the opportunity I got here. Thank you to all my teammates I got to spend those years with I wish you guys all the best. Also, special thank you to each and every one of the Leafs staff for taking care of me and my family through the years. Toronto will always have a special place in our hearts. Excited for the future with Canucks!

Moving forward, it will be interesting to see what Kampf is able to do with the Vancouver Canucks, who are underwhelming this season.
The fans want this team to be better, and they want the depth to start scoring. That means Kampf is going to have to put his best foot forward.
Whatever the case may be, we do wish the forward the best of luck going forward.
