Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving needs to make a move to improve the team, although it appears as though there are some roadblocks right now.

The Toronto Maple Leafs lost their fifth straight game on Saturday night as they fell to the Chicago Blackhawks by a score of 3-2.
It was a bad loss that proved yet again that the Toronto Maple Leafs are in desperate need of a top-six forward who can score more goals.
Auston Matthews is injured right now, and on the defensive side of things, no one can seem to move the puck. This has created a tug of war that general manager Brad Treliving is dealing with.

Brad Treliving changes course with the Toronto Maple Leafs

According to David Pagnotta, Brad Treliving was married to the idea of going after a top-six forward, but the priorities have changed.
Instead, it feels as though the Leafs are set to change course and go for a puck-moving defenseman instead, as that has been the big issue of the season.
[Treliving's] looking for a top six guy...that goes back to the offseason, and I think the realisation that they need a legitimate puckmover from the blueline is starting to sink in
This past week, it was suggested that the Toronto Maple Leafs were going after Rasmus Andersson and even had a deal in place.
If that is truly the case, then the Leafs have made their priorities clear. A puck-moving defenseman is what the Leafs are clearly looking for.
What's interesting right now is that the team recently claimed Troy Stecher off waivers, although that probably won't be enough right now.
They need someone who can score an abundance of points, and they need it to be a right-handed defenseman.
