Easton Cowan & Landon Sim Get Into Heated Altercation at Training Camp
Toronto Maple Leafs prospects Easton Cowan and Landon Sim are trying to make the roster, and so far, training camp has included their best efforts to get a job.
Easton Cowan is going to be the most watched prospect at Toronto Maple Leafs training camp, and for good reason as fans are eager for him to make the team.
While this is not a guarantee, there is no denying that the team is trying to give him a fair shake. After all, he was placed on a line with Dakota Joshua and Nicolas Roy on Thursday.
There are other prospects to watch out for, including Ben Danford and even Landon Sim, a player who got into quite a few fights during the rookie tournament this past weekend.
Easton Cowan goes up against Landon Sim
During Thursday's training camp, the Maple Leafs decided to do some one-on-one battle drills, which are always a ton of fun.
This is a great place for the rookies to truly show their stuff. When pitted against each other, they always find a new gear, and that was certainly true for Cowan and Sim.
As you can see down below, the battle between these two players was impressive, and it was on the verge of a full-blown altercation.
In the coming days, we will certainly see more from training camp. Furthermore, we will be getting a sense of which players will have the best chance of getting a roster spot.
Preseason games will also tell us a whole lot about where this team is. From there, we will likely see some cuts so that the talent assessments aren't as overwhelming.
Cowan is someone who would love to make the team, and he could certainly fit somewhere in the bottom six. That said, he is going to have to work for it.
Only time will tell whether or not he is truly up to the challenge and the harsh realities of playing against grown men in the National Hockey League.
