With the Toronto Maple Leafs on a four-game losing streak, insider Elliotte Friedman isn't convinced that Craig Berube's job is 100 percent safe right now.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are one of the most disappointing teams in the entire NHL this season, and it feels like the walls are quickly closing in.
With a record of 8-8-2 and an ongoing four-game losing streak, it is clear that this Maple Leafs team simply isn't good enough right now.
In the midst of this losing streak, there has been increased scrutiny on Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube, who has not been particularly strong when rallying the troops.
We even got a report from Elliotte Friedman stating how Craig Berube's most recent team meeting ended up falling on deaf ears.

Craig Berube on the hot seat in Toronto

With that being said, Friedman says things are "heavy" in Toronto right now. What does that mean? Well, coaching changes and roster moves could be coming.
You look right now...the games feel really heavy in Toronto, and they feel really heavy for Nashville, and they feel really heavy for Buffalo, really heavy. My interpretation of "heavy" here, is that the games could carry extra meaning in terms of making bigger decisions, be it roster moves, coaching, overall team direction etc.
The Maple Leafs organization has yet to hint at any sort of coaching change or job insecurity for Craig Berube.
However, if one thing is for certain, it is that fans are not at all impressed with what they are seeing, especially when it comes to the offense and defense.
If things continue to go down a dark path, then there is a very real chance that the Leafs make a change. They can't keep doing the same thing expecting the same results.
Hopefully, Berube is able to get things together starting tonight, against the Chicago Blackhawks.
