Toronto Maple Leafs held an intense team meeting that didn't go well for Craig Berube

Toronto Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube tried to hold his team accountable earlier this week, but in the end, it didn't go so well.
Craig Berube has been under fire this season thanks to his team's poor play for much of the year. With a record of 8-8-1, the team has not been good enough.
Fans are starting to get extremely annoyed with what they are watching, and with four losses in a row in the rearview mirror, it feels like this Leafs team is in a truly bad place.
However, it appears as though things may be even worse than advertised. We say this because, accoding to Elliotte Friedman, the team hosted a team meeting on Monday, yet things only got worse.
Craig Berube tries to put his foot down with the Maple Leafs
In his reporting, Friedman reveals that Berube called out players individually and broke down some damning tape of each player's mistakes.
Things got intense and even "brutal" at times. However, it all fell on deaf ears as the team went on to lose two more games.
The Leafs held a team meeting and video session on Monday that was described as 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘁, 𝗯𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁, 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗯𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗮𝗹, with some players even being singled out. Given how serious that meeting was, it's concerning that this was the response they came back with against Boston (followed by the OT loss to LA).
With the Leafs not giving their best effort after these meetings, you have to wonder if Craig Berube has completely lost the locker room.
Tonight, the Maple Leafs are playing against the Chicago Blackhawks, and the fans are hoping that the team can have itself a big game.
If they don't, then that will be five losses in a row, which is just unacceptable when you consider the players on this team.
From here on out, it is safe to say that Craig Berube is, in fact, on the hot seat until Brad Treliving says otherwise.
