Former Chicago Blackhawks legend Jonathan Toews is playing for the Winnipeg Jets now, but his play isn't what the fans were hoping for it to be.
Jonathan Toews' comeback has been one of the best stories of the NHL season so far; however, it hasn't been what fans were hoping for.
During the Summer, Toews was down to three options: the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Winnipeg Jets, and the Colorado Avalanche.
These were three potential Stanley Cup contenders, and there were certainly some Maple Leafs fans out there who wanted the veteran on the team.
In the end, Toews decided to go to the Jets, who are his hometown team. It was going to be an epic homecoming for a beloved future Hall of Famer.

Unfortunately, for the Jets, this has not gone well. In the last week, Toews has been demoted to the fourth line, and he only has nine points in 25 games, which are Matias Maccelli's numbers.
As one fan pointed out, Toews will get paid $5.5 million if he plays 60 games this season, which makes his production that much worse.
For the Toronto Maple Leafs, this has been great to see, and it makes general manager Brad Treliving look like a genius for not forcing the issue any further.
He could have gone harder in convincing Toews to sign, but he opted not to, and now, the Maple Leafs are in a much better position because of it.
As for the Jets, they probably have buyer's remorse, although having Toews on your team is certainly some good PR.
Only time will tell whether or not Toews can figure things out and get the Jets to a deep playoff run for the first time in a few years.
