Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi has been playing with Diabetes for years, and he has become an inspiration to many with the same disease.
Max Domi is someone who has dealt with lots of adversity over the years. Overall, the main source of adversity is the fact that he has Diabetes.
Diabetes is not an easy disease to live with, and for athletes, it can be absolutely debilitating. However, Domi has been able to persevere.
He has done everything he can to make sure that he plays at a high level, and that the disease is not able to wreak havoc on his career.
Max Domi gives a young hockey player hope
This has proven to be an inspiration to hockey players everywhere. In fact, Domi recently got to meet a young fan with Diabetes.
The young fan plays hockey himself, and as you can see below, Domi offered an incredibly inspiring message.
Do yourself a favour - don't do what I did. Tell as many people as you can, open up, educate them everyone will think you're so cool for it.
If you are a hockey player and you have Diabetes, you should absolutely take this advice to heart, as Domi knows what he's talking about.
At the end of the day, Diabetes is tough, but it's not something that can decimate your ability to play at a high level. It is very manageable.
Tonight, Max Domi will be in action against the Chicago Blackhawks, and we hope he can help this team get past this four-game losing streak.
