Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Brandon Carlo reportedly needs surgery, and as a result, the Maple Leafs could certainly use a new defenseman to take the reins.

On Tuesday, the Toronto Maple Leafs got some bad news involving Brandon Carlo, as it was revealed that the defenseman would likely need surgery.
While there is no timeline on his return to the lineup, there is no denying that the Leafs do not have time to waste, especially as it pertains to their blue line.
They have struggled with injuries in this regard throughout the season, and they could always use some extra bodies to potentially come in and prove themselves, a la Troy Stecher.

Toronto Maple Leafs could use Jarred Tinordi

According to Elliotte Friedman, the Leafs and other teams in their situation may have found the perfect player, as Jarred Tinordi has been cleared to play.
Tinordi is coming off knee surgery, and he just finished a season with the Calgary Wranglers of the AHL, where he was as solid as ever, despite the injuries.
The 6'6 former first-round pick is someone the Leafs could benefit from. He has a good net-front presence, and he is a big body that is hard to move.
He last played in the NHL for the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2023-24 season, although he seems eager to join an NHL team and prove himself at 33 years old.

Jarred Tinordi's career stats

Unfortunately, Tinordi has been incredibly injury-prone throughout his career, and it has landed him in the AHL for much of his professional life.
However, in 205 games, he has 30 points, which is respectable. He also has a net positive plus-minus, which just goes to show that he can play the game at an elite level.
Acquiring him would be a risk for the Maple Leafs, but there is no telling what they will decide. At the end of the day, fans will just have to wait and see.
