Maple Leafs reveal how much longer Brandon Carlo will be out for following surgery

Brandon Carlo is a defenseman whom the Toronto Maple Leafs acquired from the Boston Bruins at the trade deadline last season, and he has proven to be a polarizing addition.

Some fans just don't know what to make of the defenseman, as he has had some inconsistent moments with the team. Now, he is injured and has just had surgery.

This is a big deal for the Maple Leafs, especially when you consider how Chris Tanev is also out of the Maple Leafs lineup, albeit for concussion issues.

Not to mention, Oliver Ekman-Larsson got injured last night, and based on what we saw, it would not be surprising if he had to miss a considerable amount of time.

At this point in time, fans want to know when Carlo is going to come back. The Maple Leafs cannot deal with these injuries all season long and need some bodies.

On Thursday evening, after a loss to the San Jose Sharks, Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube confirmed that Carlo would have to miss another month of action.

This is not an ideal situation for the Maple Leafs, who might be down OEL by this weekend, which means they will have to make another call-up.

With the Leafs battling for a playoff spot, they simply cannot afford to deal with the abundance of injuries, yet here they are. There is nothing good about what is happening here, but they have to make the best of it.

When Carlo does come back, there will be renewed interest in trading him, which is something the Leafs attempted to do throughout this past Summer.

If one thing is for certain, it is that injuries have been one of the true major stories of this Maple Leafs season thus far, and it has made things incredibly difficult for the team.
