Toronto Maple Leafs forward Matthew Knies hasn't been himself as of late, and it appears as though things are only getting worse for the forward.

Matthew Knies had a hot start to the NHL season, although his production has tapered off a bit as of late, and fans can tell that something is off these days.
Overall, Knies is a very talented player, but when the production is off, it ruins the team's chemistry. After all, you can't have a first-line guy giving you bad minutes.
On Monday against the Minnesota Wild, Knies was supposed to be a game-time decision. In the end, he played and even got an assist.
Unfortunately, he was not good for the majority of the game, and it led to some extremely tough questions after the game, to which he graciously answered.

Matthew Knies reveals the truth

In the end, Knies admitted the fact that he isn't feeling well right now, and that he hasn't been at 100 percent for quite some time.
This is not what Maple Leafs fans wanted to hear, although it is the truth. With that in mind, the Leafs now need to ask themselves some very serious questions.
I just really haven't felt 100% for quite a while now.
The Leafs are trying to get into a playoff spot. That becomes a lot more difficult without Matthew Knies and William Nylander on the ice.
Going forward, the team must decide whether or not Knies should be sat down for a few games so that he can recover. Of course, the Olympic break will give him some much-needed reprieve.
It is a difficult situation, and we wonder how this is going to end up playing out for the Maple Leafs, especially as the Atlantic Division gets tighter.
