Las Vegas Golden Knights forward Mitch Marner was going up against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday, and it's clear that home ice could not save him.
Mitch Marner and the Las Vegas Golden Knights triumphed over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday in spectacular fashion, with a final score of 6-5 in overtime.
The Golden Knights were playing from behind for most of the game, but with the Leafs letting their guard down near the end of the match, the Knights took advantage.
Marner had two assists over the course of the night, which was a nice way to cap off the evening. Unfortunately, despite playing at home, he could not escape the heat.
Toronto Maple Leafs fans traveled to Las Vegas for this one, and those fans certainly made their presence felt in the most brutal ways possible

In the video clip below, you can see that Marner was booed by the fans every time he touched the puck. Some Golden Knights fans would attempt to counter with some cheers, but the boos were clearly louder.
While it was a valiant effort from Leafs fans to throw Marner off of his game, it didn't work in the end, as Marner played well, and even contributed to the win.
The Maple Leafs have now lost two games in a row, and while they picked up a point tonight, the wins are still very important as they look to secure a playoff spot.
This next stretch of hockey is not going to be easy, especially when you consider how the Leafs will be hosting the Golden Knights again next week.
There is going to be a lot riding on that game, and with Marner returning to Toronto, we can only imagine what the atmosphere in the arena is going to be like.
If you're a Leafs fan, there is a lot to be excited about, but in the same breath, there is a lot to be nervous about.
