Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander went down with an injury against the Las Vegas Golden Knights tonight, and Craig Berube has a major update.
William Nylander, for the most part, has been one of the most consistently healthy guys in the entire NHL. However, this year has been different for him.
Overall, he has struggled quite a bit with consistency, and it feels like he is always suffering from some sort of lower-body injury.
Just a few games ago, Nylander returned from injury. Tonight, in a loss to the Las Vegas Golden Knights, Nylander ended up hurting himself while celebrating a goal.
This is an incredibly embarrassing way to get injured, and there is no denying that the fans were rolling their eyes when they saw this happen live.
Nylander ended up having to leave the game, only to never return. Despite building a 4-2 lead, the Leafs went on to lose by a score of 6-5 in overtime.

After the game, there were some very real concerns about Nylander and his status going forward. Leafs head coach Craig Berube did not make things much better, claiming that Nylander re-aggravated his injury.
This is the worst-case scenario for the Maple Leafs, who very clearly need William Nylander's offense on the roster in order to be successful.
Without Nylander, the team is at risk of crumbling. Sure, they played well without him, but that can only go on for so long before the dam breaks.
If you are a Toronto Maple Leafs fan, you can't help but hope the Leafs are going to be able to get healthy and figure this out going forward.
Overall, there are a lot of issues with the Leafs right now, and the injuries are very clearly one of them.
