Calgary Flames forward Nazem Kadri has been subjected to numerous trade rumors, and the Toronto Maple Leafs remain one of the teams interested in the center.
One of the worst moves the Maple Leafs ever made was getting rid of Nazem Kadri all of those years ago. The fans loved Kadri, and they hated seeing him go.
However, it was eventually made apparent that Kadri would take a wait-and-see approach. Now, with the Flames at the bottom of the Western Conference standings, it appears as though the trade talks are back on.
Nazem Kadri and those pesky Toronto Maple Leafs trade rumors
According to Frank Seravalli, there is a 50/50 chance that Kadri ends up getting traded. The Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs are the two teams vying for the center.
Nazem Kadri, I'd say there's a better than 50/50 chance he's on the move, based on the interest, based on where the Flames are at
For the Maple Leafs, acquiring Kadri could completely save their season. They are last in the Atlantic Division and need an injection of offense. Unfortunately, they do not have a ton of assets to make that deal happen.
Nazem Kadri's stats at a glance
Kadri has been solid so far this season, even if his scoring has fallen off a cliff in some respects. For instance, in 24 games, he has just four goals.
This is way off his 35-goal pace from last season. However, he does have 18 points, which shows that he is setting up his teammates, something the Leafs could benefit from.
With 311 career goals and 728 points, Kadri remains a highly sought-after veteran, and we're sure there are plenty of teams that would love to have him.
