Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving has a lot of attention on him right now, and there is a debate being had about his future with the franchise.
Yesterday, Brad Treliving spoke to the media as the Toronto Maple Leafs were in the midst of a five-game losing streak that was stripping the team of morale.
Last night, the Maple Leafs won, but just barely, as it was all thanks to a huge goal by William Nylander in overtime, against a bad St. Louis Blues team.
This has bailed out the Maple Leafs from a worst-case scenario, although there is no denying that some fans are worried about the future and whether or not Treliving can fix the team.
Brad Treliving's future with the Toronto Maple Leafs
According to the 2 Mutts Hockey Podcast, there is no path forward for Treliving, and the Leafs should actually fire the general manager immediately.
In their eyes, he messed up the David Kampf situation, and he also dropped the ball when it came to signing Jack Roslovic.
The real problem with the Toronto Maple Leafs is Brad Treliving. Great guy but he's shown he's not a great GM. He's given the Leafs Coaching Staff not a good enough roster to compete in the National Hockey League.

His track record on trades isn't good enough & there's all this talk he's in on trade talk but he never wins a trade.

It feels very doubtful that the Maple Leafs will fire their general manager, although we do know that Keith Pelley can be aggressive when he doesn't get what he wants.
The Maple Leafs are a marquee franchise, and the goal is to win. If they can't win, then action is going to be taken, and fast.
