Former Toronto Maple Leafs forward Ryan O'Reilly has reportedly rejected going back to the team.

Today is the NHL trade deadline which can only mean one thing, trades and trade rumors.
Just about every team around the league is expected to be active today, especially the top contenders for the Stanley Cup, including the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Toronto has been looking to shore up their center depth this season but there aren't many available on the market.
Unfortunately for the organization, it seems that one more potential addition won't be coming to Toronto.
That would be Predators center Ryan O'Reilly, whom the Leafs aquired during the 2022-23 season.
O'Reilly appeared in 13 regular-season games for the Leafs that year, putting up 4 goals and 11 points.
His performance in the playoffs was equally as impressive as he scored 4 goals and recorded 9 points in 11 games as the Leafs actually made it out of the first round.
Perhaps this is why Brad Treliving is keen on bringing him back to the club.
However, Barry Trotz is treating the 34-year-old as if he has a no-movement clause, so he will only trade him if O'Reilly agrees to it.
And apparently, while the former Leaf was particularly fond of his time in Toronto, he has no intentions of playing for the team again.
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman confirmed that Toronto inquired about him, but that he shot that down with his pseudo trade protection.
"Even though he doesn't have a no-move clause, the Predators are treating it like he does. They won't trade him unless it's a big offer and unless he agrees to it. I think Toronto looked into O'Reilly and I think they were told he didn't have an interest in that reunion."

That being said, there is a legitimate chance O'Reilly will get moved today as the Predators look to rebuild.
He has 16 goals and 40 points through 59 games this year, bringing his career totals to 298 goals and 811 points in 1132 regular-season games.
