Toronto Maple Leafs bench boss Craig Berube had the opportunity this week to open up training camp since being hired as the head coach for the first time and according to reports his practices did not disappoint.
Tough guy Ryan Reaves was asked about how things were going and his answer did not disappoint.
replied Reaves after being asked how the team's first practice under Berube had gone.
For fans of Leafs Nation, the news that Berube is running practices harder than any coach who was previously here should be a breath of fresh air.
It's important to understand that while Reaves isn't the best player on the team, in all likelihood, he's probably in top physical condition. It makes a ton of sense that in theory Berube runs a tighter ship than the previous head coach. Sheldon Keefe tried as hard as he could to get a different gear out of the players he was given night after night, year after year but failed terribly.
With Berube in charge it is likely that everyone will see a different type of team on the ice when the Maple Leafs open their regular season in Montreal October 9th.
